September 17th - Let’s Make Ethically Crafted Fire Cider - 1PM-2:45
Fire cider has been around for a long time. A long time. It's rooted in herbal history as an immune tonic and as a support for age old concerns like the Plague, right through our more contemporary challenges like the flu.
Sign up at customer service or email me and I'll be more than happy to add you to the list! Fire ciders workshops are always a lot of fun.
And while "fun" is certainly to be taken seriously, there's also a raging political component to our work.
Is it ethical to Trademark historical recipes that have formed the People's Medicine? Recipes like Fire Cider? How do we ensure that The People's Medicine remains such? One way is obviously through workshops like this one and recognizing the work of Rosemary Gladstar and other herbalists who continue to campaign for plants and people.
Join us as we explore recipes and as we each craft our own Fire Cider to take away.
It's $35 per person. Preregistration allows for adequate supplies - even the day before, so please let me know.
We'll be at the Erie Whole Foods Co-op (1341 West 26th St)
