9-4pm on Saturday & 11-4pm on Sunday at Fountain Park, in Franklin Pamper yourself, and those you love with all things herbal and much, much more! This will be our fourth year at the Fair. Due to rave responses, we’ll have more of Sonja’s heirloom tomatoes and peppers, lots of fresh herb seedlings, an array of herbal products and ahhh, yes, if you’re early, then perhaps even a bay (Lauris noblis) which just happens to be the 2009 Herb of the Year! 6-7:30pm at the YWCA in Oil City with Sonja The use of chemical-based pesticides, herbicides and fungicides poisons our water, land and air with potentially serious consequences for our children, pets, wildlife and ourselves. Vegetables have a bad reputation for some people but they are often prepared and served without imagination or care. Yes, even in fancy restaurants. Come and discuss reasons for eating more vegetables, grains, herbs and spices and learn ways to turn them into delicious and satisfying meals. It’s a Friday evening and it's time to play! 6:30 pm until 9-ish Join me to learn how to make these delicious dessert wines, which can be used to enhance well-being and taste great! Cordials are sweet liqueurs that take on the flavor and personality of the fruits, nuts, or herbs they are infused with. You’ll be sure to leave with your own taste treat! The workshop is $45 if you do not bring supplies*. *If you bring a pint of vodka, 1 pound white sugar, and a glass canning jar with a lid, it's $35. You'll have a great time, eat lots and come away with a wee bit more hands on experience and some outstanding recipes!
